Spring Update

Wow! It is hard to believe we are on the home stretch for grade one with only two more months to go! We have been keeping very busy in the classroom and have had some great experiences in the field. Alberta/BC Guide Dog Services We had a furry visitor from Alberta Guide Dog Services visit our classroom in April, Arthur! His trainer as well as a representative from the company came to share with us how these dogs help in the community and assist those with vision loss. They shared the important training process and specific rules that Arthur has to follow to be successful in the program. St. Patrick's Island We celebrated Earth Day at the end of April.  Students were given the challenge for the morning of trying to think of ways and be mindful of leaving the island better than we found it. They came up with lots of great ideas: stay on the paths, don't wreck nature, don't litter and leave animals alone. It was a perfect day for students to take notice of seasona
